Yes, I think back a year or less, (Dennis and I signed up one day apart 馃槈) when I would check in and nothing was going on. Then B a m 馃く, or so it seems.
I imagine though it has been a steady geometric increase. I'm sure Trev could do a graph or chart of some sort. 馃槈
We've been roughly doubling in traffic every 6 month period which is good fun, every month since February has seen new records 馃榾

Great watches Steve, I really like those wide boys. Maybe I should find a Datejust version...

I think you are a ribbit's foot Kyle.L

I have been keeping my eye out for a while for one of these and this week after you mention it this one (ref: 1600) fell in my lap. I've just had it calibrated, Omega domed and waterproofed - and put on a very nice leather strap. It's a nice inexpensive watch - It's my new daily beater whipping boy 馃榾

You can never have just one - It's like having a terrible affliction - gotta have all the references, gotta have all the metals - gotta have all the dials. It's a never ending thing that can consume your life.

These are all 1960's watches with Omega domes fitted to replace the Rolex Cyclopes item.

I was asked to share some of my favorites on here - I hope this isn't too rude for a first post on here,

Honestly, these vintage DD's the OP posted are off the scale cool because of the unique styles and stella dials, but comparing the current DD2 to the RG HV, I think the Hour Vision has it all over the Rolex, and avoids that Miami drug dealer whiff that the Rolex has

That miami Drug dealer effect was actually a big turn off.. the 36 DD is still blingy, but can be dressy and classy... the DD2 is just an effort to scream for attention... the HV - although 41mm and a big Chunk of gold is still a dress watch... plus the bracelet just sparkles on the wrist...

(not to mention a vastly superior movement)....to be honest though, I would rather have some more gold on the sides than the 'saphire / visible movement'... maybe it's just me...I can't see a frikkin' thing from that side view....

I'm not usually a fan of gold watches, but I did succumb to this DD 1803 with perfect black gloss underline dial.

Most excellent. Next up, start on the vintage datejusts and, if you ever run out of their feature combos, go on to the constellations of the period.
Should keep you busy to the end of your natural life. 馃槈

That is an impressive collection, and affliction, you have. I need to run away as fast as I can. I think it can spread via simple viewing.

@Steve.P is no longer active here (not for 4 years; this is a zombie thread).

Nevertheless, I will contribute my sole D-D, which I acquired long after this thread began. It's a 1962 ref. 1806

Hi Bill, was this a new (modern replacement part) or an old stock Omega dome? 29.60 diameter?

Hi Kyle

It was on the watch when I got it ... I it tested and failed... I did not want to screw around with it... and I had the right cyclops I think 114 tropic in my bag as a backup.. .so I had it changed.

One of the biggest mistakes made is putting in a bad fitting crystal.. You wind up with a very damaged dial.. in the end...

I think its one of the two biggest mistakes , generic crystal useage when a factory original is available.
#2 ) using cheap ass brass spring bars instead of Stainless steel spring bars for your watches and buckles.

Either one of the above fail.... and your expensive watch gets a beating.. due to the faiulure of the sub 50$ parts...

Bummer, as it has a great look. I have a genuine service non-cyclops on my Datejust which is waterproof but would love the domed look!

Its actually called Xenforo, with a lot of heavy modification by Trev to suit our tastes, it was only released in the last couple of years as a whole new type of forum software breaking with a lot of older traditions and legacy 馃榾

@dsio Don't want to get sidetracked, but I'm so happy for the choice of and mods applied to Xenforo.

One thing that would take it to the next level would be notifications for @ mentions... I assume this requires a daemon to run in the bg, and might eat too many sources server side. But if it were possible, it would be great.
