Thanks MSN, it looks like the SM has an early Coat hanger S dial and a movement from 1968 馃槻 I find SM 300's to be at least as confusing as the early Speedmasters when trying to verify what is correct for the period.

You're right - that dial belongs to an earlier seamaster 300 - 2913 or 14755 straight lug versions. Would like to see a better picture of the dial (head on) to verify this and if true then would make the watch more valuable than the typical twisted lug SM300 IMO.

Since the lume looks pretty green it could have been relumed - though I want the straight on pic to determine it hasn't been repainted.

I wonder if it might have been water damaged and had the movement replaced.

The dial would most likely be ruined and replaced before the whole movement was.

You won't get it with just a bid. You'll need to make a snipe run and go "Junior Ashley" on it.

I got some pics of the SM dial last night. The seller said " I haven't touched the dial, but I figure it's been redone." It is a poorly done re painted dial and the lume has been re done as well.

Re the Constellation, is the case back laser etched and is that ok if it is?
