Put one on the wrist at the local AD and couldn't get off the wrist fast enough. Luckily nobody I knew saw me do it. Way too much flash, the the point of being cheap and cheezy. What's with the sub-dials and the silver outer ring? Full on Tool's watch.

One of the saddest things is because the modern Daytonas are portrayed as very hard to get by ADs, they're so often not worn, they sit in boxes as safe queens until they're sold off again. All the Daytonas in our family get worn, most of them, extremely worn :| Mine's the best kept of the bunch because I take good care of them but even so its a daily wear piece for me that I go swimming with and take anywhere.

    dsio,

that's what I thought might be fun, getting a newer one and have it take a beating from hard daily use. I never one in public, let alone one beat to snot from working under the hood of old car or pouring concrete and other such rural activities.

    Now thats a different story.

No HK girl I know would be caught dead wearing an old watch!

just to be clear, I love the variety of what people wear, and I am not saying it is feminine to wear a Daytona. Glad my comments were received in the vein I intended. Have to be so careful on internet. I just find it ironic that the HK girls have made such inroads into what is essentially a mans' man's watch. (Yes I meant to write double mans - but no idea how to place the apostrophes).

to such an extent the HK men I know won't wear one. Mind you they all like something a little more expensive.

I was very close to buying Black dial 16520 once.
Look at the "S", "T", And "U" serial.
They are the ones where the subdial rings turn brown after time
    and are the coolest imo

Hmmmm. I think I have to adjust this sentiment a little... I spent the evening tonight wearing a new stainless Daytona and I have to say it was pretty f'n nice; it looks much better on the wrist than it does in the case. I'd still strongly prefer the Speedmaster, but I'll not say "does nothing for me" ever again... there was a tingle or two.

The only Daytonas I thought about getting were the ones with the El Primero movement. What I couldn't understand is why an used Daytona with that movement would suddenly be worth 3+ times more than an used Zenith with the same movement. This and that the Daytona design of that era weren't sufficiently attractive to me to be worth those prices ended up turned me off from them in the end. I find some of the older vintage Rolexes more interested and visually appealing, but I have yet to land one of those yet...

I especially like those ones as they're pre-Tiger, that was the dumbest branding exercise for Tudor, ruined what was a really nice chronograph.

    Same in Israel.

I see them mostly on women . But I've seen one in Platinum on a guy.
