Perhaps the Pilot? Has anyone got one of those to verify? e.g. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Movado-Zeni...129163025?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item3f208eb511Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
As it turns out, not all ZR end pieces are created equal. The Respirators that rock the lobster shackle have 24mm lugs, and their ZR end pieces are sized accordingly. I just checked this one: Espada/Astronic/Pilot/781/782/783/Defy lobster bracelets have measly 22mm ZR end pieces. I must have known this subliminally, as I knew that there was a difference in lug width between the Respirators and the other models, but it never clicked until avantnoire asked this question. Good question! And so the vintage Zenith knowledge base expands... if only by 2mm. This is very good information and an important question to ask a seller if one is contemplating the purchase of a ZR lobster bracelet for a specific watch.
Excellent, David & MMMD. New info added to OP - pic labels should come through in a bit. MMMD, I particularly appreciate the red velour background - if Smoove B were a watchmaker, that is what would be on his workbench.
Funny you should say that... my colleagues in Accounts Receivable have often commented on the similarities between me and this fellow Smoove B.
Thanks for the info! Well if anyone wants this bracelet, please shoot me an email. It is in need of some work, broken pin holding link 2 to 3..will require some drilling and new pin fitted. cheers D
Just imagine the price this guy would be asking if he got hold of your bracelet: Zenith 1970er Respirator 28800 Manufaktur Sammleruhr !! http://r.ebay.com/THpX4W AMG!! (Ach mein Gott!!)
that would have to be about 14mm or so...these look to be about 18mm. Looks like something with hooded lugs....
M Neuman or any of the forum members, I am new forum member looking for a pair of ZKM or ZK end pieces. Please let me know if you have any available. Thanks.
Sen-sei LouS has taught me a nice little trick. There are a good amount of watches out there with Guy Freres bracelets where that heavy metal is worth more than the entire watch. I'm certain many sellers don't realize this . For example, I purchased the attached watch from a non-pro for $310. The watch had the original box, booklet and receipt. Selller didn't know that box and papers were important to collectors and would likely mean a decent premium. Also: this watch has the original Guy Freres bracelt which IMHO based on what I've seen is worth $200 to $400. The price really depends on whether or not there's a desperate, panicked buyer around. This watch is far from mint ( very far ). But, i know the history of the watch from the owners son. He received the watch as a business gift, wore it every day for (3) years, bought a rolex and never wore it again. It then sat in a bank safe deposit box for 40+ years until his son sold it to me.
