Any thoughts on the 'Seamaster 30' as per attached photo?
I don't have any other images, but do know the movement number is 21581497 and inside case is 125.007-63 with cal No. 269.

Thanks in advance whatever the answer.

The watch itself looks genuine and the ref number is correct for a Seamaster 30. Given the wear on the plating, the case is beyond repair (at least not at a reasonable cost). The only value would be in the parts. My 2c

    Many thanks for your 2c.

I guess it will take a little more than that to become wearable. I didn't pay much, and have sent to omega to assess for restoration.

    Cheers

Their quote will be way more that it will ever be worth.

The case work alone might be more than the watch is worth. I think you are looking at between $300 and $500 between the case repair, new crown and crystal. and movement service. And this assumes that the caseback is in reasonable condition and no movement parts are needed.

The Omega quote will likely be somewhere north of $1,000.

Hate to be bearer of bad news, but this one has "money pit" written all over it.

Thanks for your advice all. I'll wait and see what they come back with, and share for your enjoyment.
Any recommendations for quality watch repairs in the UAE? Maybe restoration could be worth while when I pass it on to my now 2 yr old at his 40th birthday...

On that note... when I look at this watch I can't help think of the Pulp Fiction gold watch carried by Christopher Walken's character and wonder which has had the tougher journey...

So... it turned out OK in the end. Just need to find an authentic crown

I might be wrong but I'm not aware of any quality watchmakers / repairers in the UAE
I send mine back to the UK for service

I'm certainly happy to be wrong on this one.

    Nice work.

Not wrong at all... the Omega quote was up where you said. The local restoration was about $350 also as predicted. But I picked it up for under $100 in the first place... so happy to have pulled it back from the scrap heap.

Many thanks for the sound advice.

Thanks, and thanks anyway. FYI... I dealt with Momentum in DIFC.
