I hope Desmond forgives me for using "rare" in this frivolous manner but I have actually never seen another Flightmaster with them. My Flightmaster was sold here in Sweden and was used by an MD - who had a dream of being a pilot. So he became a professional pilot also and worked for a mining company. His wife gave him this watch as a fourtieth birthday gift. He had a friend in the local watchmaker and it was regularly serviced. The case has lost most of its radial "sunray" finish - probably due to polish by mentioned watchmaker. Many years later I got to buy it. The original owners son told me his dad only used it when flying. Flightmasters have colour coded crowns and pushers and as far as I have been able to find out, the chrono pushers, for a very short while, were red OR yellow. Flightmasters were sold in two versions - red chrono hands for travellers and amateur pilots and yellow kadmium coated chrono hands for professional pilots (or those posing as such). Omega probably soon went to the "normal" Flightmaster pushers with red AND yellow marking - easier to keep just one version in stock, etc. Anyone else out there with red OR yellow Flightmasters? Found this: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/flightmaster-chrono-pusher-variants-179146.html which in its turn links to my original "outing" of when I bought mine.
Ok let me help you with it ... Wanna pass it on to fellow member here i think this time I beat private I am calling dibs
Well - my dear - your is a nice one too - - BUT - - You are not really with us ... Our's are - PRE-PRODUCTION See the missing dot's on 12 !!!
Tell me about the dots. I am ashamed...I have not noticed that before. What significance do they represent?
Look, go and Google - and look for Flightmaster Box You will find that these ons are the ones Photographed for the very Box and on the Adverts... The production was with the dot's ... always a pleasure to help
Aha - I did not understand your first reply - "lost in translation". But I did a quick search and as I said - I am a little ashamed not noticing that before. Well it makes the pushers even more plausible/probable to be first run also. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction about the dial. One never stop to learn things. While searching about the dot/dials I found one more with all yellow pushers - and apparently another dial version - with dots but lacking a "T": http://www.thewatchforum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=38405 Thanks again. PS - If my Flightmaster had been a Rolex it would just have been elevated to extremely valuable.
