Samantha Cristoforetti, on next 23th of November will be the first italian woman on space. She will lift off to ISS for a 6month mission. Did you recognize what watch she wear during trainig, official picture and probably also in ISS (see image above)? Thanks, Best regards Silvio
Steve is a space case. I hope another astronaut doesn't piss her off during the mission. Once you get an Italian woman's temper flaring, who knows what she will do!
I wanna see the full picture of the Italian AND the watch... Is she 'hot'? Or would that only be on 'take-off'!?
I found her, but not with the watch (at least, that we can see) She's got an impressive resume: http://www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Human_Spaceflight/Astronauts/Samantha_Cristoforetti
She looks GREAT! I'm sure she's an interesting woman, although rocket scientists don't always have the greatest reputation for personality...she's probably an exception!
I was trying to imagine her by the end of the mission (6 months), when the hair would be considerably longer, and she'd... well, I better stop NOW..
They all have X33's, except for that one Japanese astronaut with a G-Shock or something It might actually be a Suunto or similar, but I've never seen a clear photo of it.
It's fun to play watch-spotting on the NASA Flickr feed: And last but not least: the Space Wizard casting a spell on the rocket. He doesn't appear to wear a watch:
I had opportunity to made an interview with Samantha cuple of yeras ago, when she visit in torino the assembly builings of ISS module Cupola node2-3 and coulumbus. She was just nominee Esa astronauts, she is smart and very friendly she was also enthusiasts on space history we spome a little bit about speedmaster. Keep cross finger for the upcoming liftoff on soyuz capsule.
