Omega doesn't make buckles like that anymore, so not only is the buckle fake, the packaging is as well.

New modern buckles come looking like this:

Any chance they are from the 1960's-70's?

Packaging would have been completely different then.

    These are completely FAKE.

Yes, the packaging is made to look like modern Omega packaging, but has no part number, date code, etc. on it, so completely fake.

I just got offered a load of stuff from that watchmaker uncle's estate. Lots of pin pallets with OMEGA SEAMASTER neatly stenciled onto the three-quarter plate alongside the manufacturer's name. Not sure who they were intended to fool.

But did anyone see the 1945 black dial military with the ex-WD three pointed W on the dial and the three Ws in the rear case?

I was wondering about the Omega logo itself in the case back: I had assumed they always looked like a greek omega (and wondered about all those semi-circular ones with no greek letter coming from Ukraine) but is there a genuine Omega logo which resembles more a squiggle than the greek letter?

Lots of WW1 silver watches have an omega in a small circle which clearly arent Omegas (not sure what they are) but I had never come across a real Omega where the corporate logo doesn't look like the greek letter?

Yes, most Omegas cases from the 1930's and earlier have that logo.

The the watches from Ukraine tend to be real pocket watches with legit Omega movements. They have fantasy dials and are recased in large wristwatch cases.

    Hope this helps,

No, I meant this sort of thing (here the omega is upside down, normally it is the right way up. Even if it weren't an obvious marriage between a GS case and a Rolex movement, you arent seriously suggesting that any part of this is made by the Omega company?

That is a silver hallmark for 'London - import', so a foreign made case hallmarked by the London assay office.

I have had one of these horseshoe buckles. It is supposed to look like this: [IMG][IMG]

Beware, many, many fakes are around, especially on the bay.

The fake buckle mine field seems more dense than the fake watch mine field! When looking for a modern Omega buckle or related accessory I look no further than here http://www.ofrei.com/page572.html
