Most of my knowledge of vintage Longines is confined to the '40s through '60s, so I cannot comment confidently on this watch that is for sale on ebay (link below photo). However, it certainly looks legitimate to me, and is very cool, BIG, and uncommon in such condition. Oh, and it won't be cheap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Longines-Pi...994371868?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item5b0914a51cPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
OooooooooooAhaaaaaaaaa Very nice. I'm going to watch the last ten seconds of the auction, I think it will be interesting.
Let the games begin! There are a few of these floating around that are supposed to be Czech military watches. It will be an interesting last rush as Jim notes.
Longines has a new heritage reissue of this watch. Just saw one a couple of weeks ago at the Hour Passion boutique on 34th street in New York. Very nice piece IMHO. Would love to see an original.
One of my favorites, especially the early series enamel dial ones; the one offered is a 2nd gen cal. 15.26. I have a 3rd series, metal dialled cal. 15.68z
sold for $2562. Given the interst in larger Longines, this seems reasonable, to say nothing about it being a fine example.
I'd say that is was a bargain, but…we're now in an accelerating, (largely) deflationary period, and there have been many nice watches sold at real discounts in recent months.
