I know the dial is well beyond patina into the grimey category, but I really like the way it looks. Would love to know thoughts on integrity of the dial, movement, case and crown - also interested in what folks think is a fair price for the watch.

Dial and crown are original. Sharp case and the gold medallion is not too bad. Desirable 352 bumper. Patina on the dial is actually not too grimey as you have put it.

 

And it's nicely uniformly 'grimy' ...

 

What's with the meteor strikes on that dial? They look like craters on the moon.

This dial is very strange. It's guilloche, but not a black one which has faded, rather a cream or salmon dial which has darkened. And then, as Dennis says, there are these pock marks all over it. What on earth could cause that?

I would be rather wary of this one, since if this is chemical action, what might have happened to the movement?

Measles are bumps. This is more like gaping pores.

 

I have been following this as well...but with more than three days left it looks like it is going to be bid up too high for what it is, we'll see.

 

Any idea what a fair price might be. Feeling like it's pretty close to that spot now, but appreciate thoughts.

 

Agreed, If the dial was just a little nicer this one would go through the roof and still might but for me it is at the upper edge right now.

unless we're talking of different things there is a pic of the movement indeed!
Looks pretty good to me! For my taste the dial looks to odd (to much contrast between dial and markers/hands).
About the price...you never know.
