Hi drillz, you're right to seek opinions here as the 168.005 is commonly faked. Not sure based on the somewhat blurry photos but I going to try. I was thinking: a. second hand looks a tad short, probably a replacement? b. does caseback look genuine? Looks like the fake one in Desmond's blog entry (see page 3) The photos don't quite give enough detail to look for the other red flags Desmond mentions, and a close up of the dial would help too. Now for this amateur to step aside and let the experts weigh in!
It is hard to make a call on the dial but I am leaning towards genuine. The hands should have the lume? Can't really tell due to the quality of the picture. The second hand is definitely wrong as it is chopped off from longer a longer hand. The lugs retained a little of its original definition. The caseback also seems to be a bit polished. That is my diagnostic, I am sure more knowledgable folks will chime in shortly. Good luck.
Hmm, I think we need better pics. Swiss Made T means that the hands appear wrong as I can't see any lume on them. The dial looks right and the case may be okay. Just make sure that what look tyo be facets on the outer lugs are indeed there Regards Desmond.
Thanks for the all the input guys. In another picture it seems like there is lume on it. What would you pay for this example?
