Gents, sorry for my all to short post.
I'm in the market for a Bezel ring for CK 2913. I've actually been searching for it, on and of, for seven years. It's the last missing piece before my late dads SM 300 is fully restoreable. Monday my jaw dropped when i found one on Ebay. Unfortunately I'm a novice at auctions, didn't know what to do, and the bezel went to someone else. After repeatedly banging my head in the wall, i posted my initial post in frustration.
However; My question is still stands. Are there anyone out there willing to part with their CK2913 bezel? i doesn't have to have the inserts or be in any kind of "mint" condition.

I think some other members also been looking for it for a while and I wondered why that ebay bezel went that cheap.

I almost bid on that myself, but I wouldn´t call it that cheap as it still needs 300 Euro´s worth of insert! Bringing it up to around 600 Euro complete.

I was actually willing to go even higher, but as mentioned, hadn't done my homework and didn't know how these auctions work. So the learning point of this is: Make sure you understand the rules before you enter the game. If not, the "good stuff ends up in someone else's mailbox.

Well, rare and pricy. I should know, have both sold and bought several. Last october an australian seller in one week had several used 1. gen and 2. gen. bezels for sale...and they went for crazy money. And for more than the above listed.
Will give you a shout if I get one that I will/can let go.

Didn't see these for sale - were they sold privately? And the first gen bezels did they have the factory insert/printing on them?

When you say 2nd gen do you mean 165.024 or 14755?

AFIK 2913, 14755 and 165.014 are all interchangable.

The 2913 bezels are not identical in size and dimensions as the later bezels.

From what I remember watchco sold about 4 or 5 in varying condition, at least one had original insert and went for over £1,000.

I saw one with the original insert but not completely intact sold by watchco but nothing close to being a nice factory original one unless I missed it.

Sold through ebay. And it was one of our "favoritte" sellers (Abouttime-ch aka. WatchCo.). There were 3 or 4 first. gen thin bezels (for 2913/14755/165.014). One with almost intact insert (the below, went for 1400$!), the rest with partly missing insert and one with broken off. 12 o'clock marker.

And also a handful of all original 165.024/166.024 (2.gen) bezels in almost all interations. Some nice, some not.

I had a 14755 bezel in Italy for restoration and fitted a bezel from a 165.014 to my 14755 while waiting for its return. That was a perfect and fully functioning fit, I can´t say I noticed any differences at all. Having said that I only compared the two with my naked eye and didn´t measure them.

In what respect is the 2913 bezel different then?

A 14755 or later bezel when fit to a 2913 case is too tight and a 2913 bezel fit to a later case will be too loose. The 14755 and 165.014 bezels interchange nicely. At least that has been my observation from the pieces in my collection.

One in fair condition just went on ebay for $400. I have a couple 2913's with one in poor condition and one that is naked. Bad design by Omega to put a hook on a bezel that can easily grab on something (shirt, curtains, seaweed, etc) and get yanked off the watch. Nice examples will bring crazy money. Frustrating for me. Exciting for the person sitting on a stack of them. Prices will only go up as more and more get yanked off the watches or as the cheesy plastic insert breaks off. Aaaaaaargh. I hate that I love these watches
