Was looking at my watches and assessing my collection to determine what if any I should sell. yeah right! Well I've acquired several new SMs recently and the fact is I really do enjoy these 50's & 60's SM's, so I thought I'd share. These watches have fantastic styling and they are just so versatile...the following are my current Vintage SMs. The time line of these watches range from 1951 to 1968 and I set them out in chronological order. I know how visual you all are so I wont waste any more time with hype and get directly to some photos! Lets see your Seamasters, I know there are many interesting variations out there in our community. Show em if ya got em!
Thanks Lessismore, a ref. 2635 cal. 354 & ref. 2577 cal 352 chronometer, respectively...like that early date at six with waffle dial , always have my eye out for a nice one, no luck yet.
50s Seamasters are my favourite models by far, the more obscure the better (just copied from my instagram @ashley.budgen)
2577 with a chrono. rated cal is my next victim.... Haven't found one in decent shape... yet! I had the opportunity to snatch a 2635 but I thought their size would be too small, now looking at yours I think I made the wrong decision.... I am picking up a watch next week or the next (not sure yet) from a local watchmaker and I think he has a date at 6 he is selling (either a 2627 or 2757, I didn't really look at it too much since I already have one) but it looked to be in good condition, I will take a picture or two when I go pick up my watch if it is still there.
Can't find it right now but reckon it's very similar to this one.. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=371125859423Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Very comfortable!
I thought the same thing about the 2635 but they wear larger than their size (lugs protrude out the side by a couple of mm). I even had Norman (XJ350 XJR) send me a wrist shot before I purchased it. I went for it because I couldn't resist the dial and that case design, such a nice looking watch, and it worked out fine...its getting a lot of wrist time.
what is the lug to lug size of the 2635? I don't really know what I was thinking is not like I have huge wrists anyway. Is the fourth one from the left a 2627?
