Hi everyone - making the daunting entry into vintage watch buying. Have been looking at lots of watches absolutely love the universal compax. Found one in a local antique store - this is the only picture I have, any comments/thoughts? It's about USD2500

Also found this Breitling, which is priced around the same level. IMG_0002.jpg

I'll defer my thoughts on the Breitling, though I'd suggest that it is wildly overpriced if it does check out.

The Universal is a poorly done redial with an incorrect seconds subdial hand. I'd pass.

As for the Breitling, I am but the messenger.... For the year being 1945, hands are all incorrect. Case is overpolished and I of course would like to see the movement as well. Dial is missing SWISS MADE with unusual almost whiting out appearance to the area. Even if a legit dial, it is from a later watch. Here is a correct watch of the same period. Photo from net.
Note: if you paid at the same $2500 level, HIGHLY OVERPRICED!!
