Noticed that a NOS Seamaster Shom has appeared on ebay at a ridiculously low BIN prices, one just now on Germany ebay and another a couple of days ago on French ebay. Looks like a scam going on as its the same advert http://www.ebay.de/itm/301301346594Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Hi all, Well it looks like these sellers have just lifted this watch listing directly from abouttime-ch in Australia as here is the original listing http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Omega-197...421094384?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item1c4542ddf0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Here is the French sellers listing with even the same movement number listed http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Omega-197...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network He also has a Planet Ocean available for just 400 Euros here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Omega...ontres_Montres_Classiques&hash=item43cee80f82Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network I find it hard to believe anyone would buy either of those at just 400 Euros and expect to actually receive the watch so find it hard to understand the point of the scam attempt does the seller really think its going to work? Marc
Yes, I saw that connection with abouttime too, after the fact of course! I was suspicious at the price but took a punt within a few seconds of it being listed with the intention of researching the seller later. I had already reported it to Ebay before this thread started, it looks like a reactivated dormant account as the majority of feedback dates from 08/09
Its up again ........... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301302030105Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Does anyone know where to get a solid (legitimate) example of one of these? I'd build one myself using a donor movement but it doesn't seem that you can buy the correct dials anymore?
Watchco have a couple at the moment but if you are based in Oz you can't bid. <EDIT> you may be able to bid on eBay.com (US site). Note the : Does not ship to Australia However, there are ways around that (somebody in Melbourne picks it up from Watchco for you and mails it, seems to work quite well ) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-1971-...297297153?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item1e91edc301Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Thanks Jim. I'm in Sydney so I might check it out! Strange the "no shipping to Aus" thing? Know anyone in Melbourne?
