Ploprof White.... Full Bezel Lume! And how about this one?... This is the SMP from "Tomorrow Never dies" (not sure it counts as lume though....
I thought the same thing initially, but remembered the scene in the final act of Tomorrow Never Dies... where the SMP was taped to the grenade.... The one from the World is not enough lights up differently..
wow. darklight really takes it to the next level. i had no idea the super luminova was full thickness. see the backside of the hands reflected on the face? cool.
Good evening, Here several shots of my rather classic Omega Speedmaster Professional, cal. 1861, ref. 38705000. Taken with various exposures, focal length, speed, aperture and ISO... It's difficult to play indoor with such kind of pictures, since you still have to manage many light sources - the computer screen, various leds, light from the corridors and so on. I hope you'll appreciate them.
....cool shot without question. But I'm thinking that the reflection you're seeing is from the crystal reflecting back on to the dial...not the back side of the hour/minute hands....the hour markers also have the effect in your photo...clearly not explained by "full thickness lume" Besides, the DSOM dial is so shiny....if there was luminova under the hands, it would show.... but like I said, cool shot...I just don't want any crazed fans out there complaining to Omega that their DSOM doesn't have the luminova underneith their hour/minute hands..
you're right about the markers, but note the position that THOSE reflections are with respect to the markers. if you look carefully, the 'double reflection' ARE also present for the hands, just much less intense. in normal light (see 2nd shot), that's the ONLY reflection so that must be the underside of the hands, not a double reflection (though i hadn't considered that). i can clearly see the luminova on the underside of the hands now that i know it's there. makes sense too: white gold is way more costly than luminova.
Yes on some watches the undersides of the hands definitely glow as bright as the top side... Matte dial....
Unfortunately I no longer have the 2254, but the funds went towards the PO XL, so the legacy lives on! And some old pictures that I enjoy...
Possibly the most beautiful lume shot I've ever seen. Just gorgeous. EDIT: In fact, you inspired me. I didn't do it as good as you but I inspected my shot and I will perfect it tomorrow. I oughta lower my ISO and adjust my shutterspeed accordingly so the lume doesn't spill. and shoot at f5.6 or a little more instead of f4 for better depth of the whole timepiece.
