Measuring a desk at work today, released the latch on the tape measure and it flew back and took a chunk out of the bezel on my 5 month old speedy ::censored::  ! Fortunately it didn't get any of the colour or text.

The first one hurts the most, I guess now it's got character ;)

    Edit: 'happen one day'

Better the watch and not your arm. Also probably the best place to have it hit because it is rather easy to replace.

Thanks Kringkily, I was pretty annoyed at first but the case is un-marked so one to put down to experience. I'm sure it won't be the last!!

Thanks bill5959, just one of those things, my own fault. It's not a huge dent just looked worse at the time coupled with the huge annoyance of doing it.

Pics, even of the unfortunate, are paramount.

So, the inevitable finally happened to me today also.

I took my 5 year old nephew to a large indoor play area/jungle gym place and when it was time to go, I couldn't see him anywhere (it's quite big and on multi levels). So, I had to go and find him.. Although admittedly it was quite fun climbing about the place, I'm too big and too hold to be crawling/climbing about! Anyway, I found him but upon getting home I noticed some scratches on the bracelet! They're on the first link of the outside of the bracelt, and right on the polished centre link! So annoying - I should've just taken it off (although as a completely soft, padded children's play area, I didn't think there'd be too much to scratch it on).

Not deep scratches, but noticeable. Damn. At least it's just the bracelet, which will be switched to a NATO in the summer, and will be polished up on the first service (in 4/5 years!!!)

I don't know, can I? What would I use? I really wouldn't want to make it worse!

Plenty of products around as long as they're not crazy deep. worst case take it to any jeweler , they will polish it.

Watch obsession has a few products, but any steel polishing kit should suffice, just protect the dial glass/hesalite before polishing or buffing.

Don't polish unless u need to. It will just scratch up again and every time takes a tiny bit of metal off. The crystal just keep it clean with the proper stuff and ur golden

Thanks. Yeah, there will always be more scratches I suppose. The thing is, I can take an accumulation of small, light scratches that add up to the appearance of wear and character, but single, noticeable scratches on an otherwise pristine watch/bracelet really annoys me!
