I've been trying to figure out the age of my Aqua Terra. The model number is 2803.33.00 and the serial number is 80624049.

I've browsed around the web and haven found anything that is useful in finding the age of modern Omega pieces. If anyone could share some knowledge, it would be much appreciated!

 

As far as I know, the only way to truly know what year an Omega was produced is to order an extract from the archives. Unfortunately, this service is not available in the US.

 

I am not familiar with this method. It is totally impossible to retrieve if you are in the US? Dang.

 

There is a section of the Omega website where you can order an extract. I believe they are now around 150$. It's possible someone, maybe another forum member, who lives outside of the country can work with you to order the archive for you and then ship it to the US. It's actually a pretty neat thing to have to compliment your watch.

 

But certified omega watch makers have access to the archives as well no?

 

No - what I have access to is the Omega Extranet. The Extranet is a tool used for finding and ordering parts, for the transmission of technical information, work instructions, ordering tools, etc. It's not about the archives, and I have no way of knowing the age of a watch either, other than using the same serial number listings that are on the web out there.

If I want an extract, I have to order it the same way everyone else does.

Is the extract basically a directory of serial numbers and can be used as a reference for any Omega, or is it for only your watch in particular?

 

It's done one serial number at a time - and only for watches older than the year 2000 according the their web site:

You can't use this site if you are in the US, but it gives you some idea what the Extract is all about.
