If I were buying one, I'd go for the blue one!

Meylan Chronograph fished out of the Bay last night.

Many may not know the brand, but they had close tie in to Lemania/Omega and the rest of SSIH back in the days.
This one, without being listed as such, contains the Lemania CH27C12 - aka Omega 321 - movement.

The watch as a whole have been made by Lemania. The signed (Lemania) crown and the 14 edged case back is a giveaway (yes I have a dedicated tool for those;) ). (Sellers pics).
    35mm Diameter Excluding Crown x 43.5mm. 18mm Lug Spacing.
Guessing the date to be from around 1955.

Going to be hovering around the mailbox a bit more frequently the coming weeks.......
I have a feeling this one will clean up rather nicely!

My first honeycombed + bumper omegas! As luck would have it, they turned up much more similar than the pictures on the bay would have led one to believe.

In a dilemma on which to keep - the 2577 is in better condition and not redialled (as far as I can tell), but I must say the 2494 looks pretty sweet on the wrist as well! Perhaps I can try to convince the missus that they are a pair of his and hers! :p

Nice! Is the larger one on the right 36mm?

Beware what you wish for, I used that ploy several years ago and now wife and one daughter are always nosing around the watch box :(

I beg your pardon, I did NOT see that one. I saw a Wakmann that looked a lot like it and also had a lemania engine which I mistook for it, and which is still for sale

A nice watch as well, and keeping in line with many chronographs at the time. Lemania case (even the case ref is Lemania), and a "house" badge. A key difference is that the Wakmann holds a cal 127x cam shifted movement, whereas my Meylan contains the 2310 column wheel one.

The case ref 805-63 tells (like many other watches from SSIH around that time) that the case was made in 1963.
The ref 805 must have been in production for quite some time as it also appears in my 1956 Lemania catalog:

BTW: Is the Wakmann missing a bezel ring? Seems like something is not entirely right or is it the angle/photo??

WP_20140804_18_41_37_Pro.jpg Nice guitar! Told you they had loads.... I'm ecstatically happy with my transaction too. I've only had a Speedmaster reduced and a automatic broad arrow up till now so this is my first proper moonwatch. The tritium is starting to patina nicely and it looks good on a new Hadley Roma strap. Only issue is I can't get the case back off to fit the priek case back with my rubber ball, and the last time I tried a three legged opener I snagged the case back completely.

Any votes on whether I should give it a go?

Only kidding. Trip to the local jewellers weds to let them ease it off. Still not convinced by this winding lark. Will update later.... and take some photos that are in focus.

Okay, I really liked this when I saw it in person...it's soon to be on its way.

And one more thing, vastly less pricy...a '50s (I think) gold filled buckle. Need to find a better strap that is 16mm at the end. It had come with a very old lizard strap that was falling apart. The seller actually sent it along! There's actually very little wear. Most of the pseudo-blemishes in the photos are reflections.
