My travels recently brought me to the hometown of a gentleman known to have a bit of a thing for Heuers - Jeff Stein. He hosted a very fine 'Watch Lunch' during which we compared notes on Heuers, Zeniths, UGs and a smattering of others. I brought a few and he brought...quite a few more.

The above pic represents only a small part of what came out of his case. The food, even though good, was reduced to a distraction.

Here are some that really captured my retina

We got so engrossed in discussion that we lost track of time...while looking at a table full of watches! I was late for a presentation (It was scheduled at 130 - the G 381 in the pic above shows the correct time!) and found myself running up to the podium in a crowded lecture hall with my watch case in my hand - no time to put it away. I have no idea what everyone assumed I had in there.

Meeting Lou was a great pleasure for me . . . we should have simply asked the restaurant for an "hourly rate", as there was no real purpose in ordering the food. It was all about the watches and -- even more -- meeting another enthusiast who has been a good, reliable pen pal for a long time. I will post a couple of photos sometime soon . . . in the meanwhile, here is one stage of the process . . . packing the briefcase the night before the meeting. There were some last minutes adds and deletes, but this gives you a flavor of the watches that I brought to our so called "lunch".

Watches and briefcase are safely back at home, covered by the homeowners policy (stated value per watch, etc.)

    "A Chronograph Lunch"
OK, is it just me or is this thread rather fraudulent? I have not seen or heard one word about what was eaten for lunch. Not so much as a picture of a tomato.
Pictures or it didn't happen

You think you're disappointed? I thought they were going to eat chronographs.

If it were one of those Zeniths, I'd choke it down. What happens after that is nobody's business than mine

Belatedly, here is a list of the 24 watches that I brought to the "Lunch with Lou". Lou had expressed an interest in the Heuers from the 1960s, and random dive and pilot watches, so here's what I brought:
    • Abercrombie & Fitch Auto-Graph chronograph
    • Abercrombie & Fitch Seafarer, Ref 346 Case
    • Abercrombie & Fitch Seafarer, Ref 2447 case
    • Abercrombie & Fitch three register hex-back chronograph
    • Abercrombie & Fitch, Ref 2444, three register chronograph
    • Vixa Type 20 flyback chronograph
    • Triton Spirotechnique dive watch
    • Breitling Super-Ocean chronograph
    • Breitling Unitime chronograph, 24-hour indication
    • Heuer Autavia, Ref 2446, First Execution Screw-Back Case
    • Heuer Autavia, Ref 3646, First execution Screw-Back Case
    • Heuer Autavia, Ref 1163 MH “Chronomatic”
    • Heuer Autavia, Ref 1163, Cream / Tropical
    • Heuer Autavia, Ref 73663 “Villeneuve” model
    • Heuer Autavia, Ref 73363 (IDF issued)
    • Heuer Autavia, Ref 73463 (IDF issued)
    • Heuer Carrera, Ref 2447 S
    • Heuer Carrera, Ref 2447 N , hex-back case
    • Heuer Carrera, Ref 2447 SN “Panda”
    • Heuer Carrera, Ref 2447 NS
    • Heuer Carrera, Ref 1158 CHN, 18 karat gold
    • Heuer Monaco, Ref 1133B “Chronomatic”
    • Eterna Eternamatic KonTiki dive watch (IDF issued)
    • TAG Heuer dive watch, ref 844/3
This list does not exactly match the watches shown in the photo, as the photo was taken while I was in the process of packing, and I switched out some of the watches before the lunch.

"Lunch with Lou" was definitely a highlight of 2013!!
