Must just be that the app is a bit dodgy, I've had weird inconsistencies between features on regional eBay's as well, like .au doesn't do some things .com does.

If it will not come up again for sale, that watch brought a nice premium...

Seems a very high premium to me just for a 'chocolate' dial. The crown is different to mine where the Omega symbol is shaped differently and more like the raised logo on the dial and I have owned it since new with no work ever having been done on it. What else is not original? I have tried taking a photo without success.

Glad someone else thought it was very high too.
Maybe others have implied this but I wasn't 'in tune' with their posts.
I think it looks ok on my phone but when Ash posted his reminder I had a proper look on the bigger screens at work and I'm afraid I just don't see the beauty :(
No offence meant to the buyer. Did Michael get it? I'd have thought he's got higher feedback. ;0)
I feel we've been moving in to a whole new territory lately; it's becoming more like I imagine the art world to be.
Read the Nina Rindt thread and links earlier and couldn't help but think of the Emperor's new clothes.

I do think its a very pretty watch but that's particularly compared to the poor Ed Whites that have been for sale lately with round edged cases and replaced parts.

    Who did get it btw?

private feedback is not the same as zero feedback

I think its just that the Android app didn't correctly handle the value and showed it as 0 instead of private, a programming error on eBay's part

It's definitely showing as 0 feedback to me, I'd do a screen grab but I'm an idiot with computers!

Bidder no 3 was @ 6050 USD. So, as it seems, only 2 bidders at the USD 8000 level. I wonder how many bidders there were above USD 6000 that we don´t see because their bids didn´t register?

Probably a couple, as I mentioned I think the price is partly a commentary on how many people would rather pay more for an original barn find even with some patina than for one of the shiny chrono24 watches.

Totally agree with you, Ash. A beautiful specimen, that will clean up nicely. I would rather own that one, untouched, than a "fixed" one from a dealer, even if $2k cheaper....

I didn't buy it unfortunately but did have a bid early on in the auction, this could be the reason I could see how much feedback the private bidder had.

    Thanks Mick

A nice watch, but still a high price imho. I wonder what a completely original one would fetch?

I put in a snipe at $6500 but it never had a chance. Guess the buyer wanted it real bad.

    Gavin

The person that won it has feedback marked as Private and only made one bid with 4 seconds to go and outbid the previous high bidder by just £100 and the previous high bidder only made 3 bids himself the last of which was with just 5 seconds to go I would guess he wasn't happy he missed out.

    @All
I wonder why after posting on here a year ago the seller didn't come back and offer the watch on the forum rather then paying the E-Bay fees I would of thought he would of been better off doing that. Actually thinking about it he may of tried but not having 200 posts would of found it impossible.

The eBay fees aren't that high by comparison to what he ended up getting, if he'd listed it for $8000 here it'd probably have sat a long time, auctions encourage bidding.

    Hi

I would say this is pretty expensive for a 105-003....no BCT and requiring a Service which is going to cost a further £300 - £400 GBP.

It might be nice looking....however I think someone got carried away with the bidding here !

    Best - Neil
