If it's been sitting around for months there's always a reason. The good stuff doesn't last an hour or so.
You want to know what puzzles me? Why some of Mike's listings have to get bumped so many times. If people who want "newer" looking watches knew how good a decent watchmaker could make those unpolished cases look they'd be all over some of his offerings.
I have always thought that my stark photos showing even the smallest scratches on the frequently unpolished cases would turn away many buyers but I think many who have actually ended up buying find out that often the watches look better in the metal.
That might be another thing that comes with experience - knowing that proper lighting with macro ends up magnifying the faults. Still, it's sad to say that "oooo, shiny" outsells "original" every day.
