I am away traveling again and found this photo I took on my last visit to the safes.

What have we here, anyone care to guess?

I think I know.....all were removed from 2998's, but as far as I know only two pairs should be put back on that reference.

I agree. Definitely not the ones with the shorter minute hand.

Shorter minute and longer hour hands should be excluded?

Third set looks like 2915-3 hands, long hour hand and a sharp minute hand.

Firstly, all were removed from 2998's

I believe the two pairs on the outside are original 2998 hands, although I prefer, and value the ones with the triangular lume. The thin line lume is similar, though different to the modern replacements.

I have not got to the bottom of what exactly Ofrei supply - they list alpha hands but I dont know how long they are, probably the seamaster length.

The second from the left is I believe a seamaster set. Often fitted to 2998's and easily spotted, once you know to look as the minute hand does not reach the minute track. This set may even be modern, I cannot confirm the source.

The third set is for a 2915. Lucky me. Came on a 2998, and now rest happily on a 2915.

The 4th set in line is triangular-lume hour hand, for 2998. The Minute lume is straight ended, rather than curved.

I suspect there may be more variations out there, if I look.

I welcome any input if you have some more examples of 2998 hands

very slightly short of the minute track?
I would call original for length.

Your hand terminates similar to this:

    Closeup:
    2998-062.jpg

This falls just short of the edge of the track.

Until proved otherwise, because the sheer numbers of hands I see falling to this point, I call original.

However, I would love to hear what others say

Did you measure the length of the hand from ebay and compared it to the other correct ones you have? Your blue dial appears to have the minute track printed farther from the centre and more toward the edge than most other no-Pro dials. This would make the minute hand seem shorter than normal.
