hello omega forum. Have here for sale a 76 speedmaster. Dial is in nice good condition. Case is nice and thick. But does have some nicks on it. If you look at the below pictures. I tried to capture the love marks. It’s on the lugs. One of the luge has it on the edge and outer part of the lug. Dnn is correct for this reference. Serial range is correct for this reference. Movement is working as it should. Chronograph function is starting and resetting just fine. You can see that there are marking of service being done in the past. Which means it was taken care of mechanically. But since I did not service it. Service is unknown. So I recommend a service. My asking price is 2575 usd. Or best offer. Price is with shipping included. If you have any questions or need extra pictures feel free to email/dm me. Here is my email.

If I made any mistakes on my listing please message me and I will correct the listing. Thank you omega forums for the space.

Just as an FYI, this is almost certainly made in the 2nd half of 1977. Your first 4 digits match mine, and from https://www.ilovemyspeedmaster.com/productiondateprediction/ it places mine in June of 1977. Interestingly yours also has the long S that almost touches the R in "Professional". If you are willing to share it, I believe @Foo2rama may be interested in the whole serial, and whether it comes before or after mine, as mine so far has been the earliest example (by serial number) of the long S.

Thanks for the pm about the serial.

Well both dial variants are acceptable for this model. The serial puts it before any I’ve recorded for that dial. That being said I have a small sample set. But it is the first example that I have that crosses the boundary and shows a fuzzy cut off date.

So I can’t comment or confirm the dials originality. But it is considered correct and AFAIK I’m the only one hunting for a hard change over date.

Case is great except for that lug scratch.

I have a 76 Speedmaster (with a -74 caseback) and the movement's SN is 39,183,xxx where the Extract of the Archives puts the date of manufacture as October 21st 1976. But I don't know if this helps place the watch closer to 1976 or not, other than it's another 76 with a 39 mil SN.

Speedy4Ever may be able to help you date the watch if needed. He wrote a book all about Moonwatches. "Moonwatch Only"

Was I almost the only one to see the potential here? And a beautiful, honest Vintage Speedy for a few bucks?
