Greetings, for sale is a well-kept 1949, Calibre 265 Omega. It is a manual wind watch. This is the 9ct solid gold version (hallmarked Birmingham) with a silvered dial with hourly gilt markers and arabic numerals every three hours. It has a seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock. Case width is approx 33mm, strap is a standard 18mm. The strap is a genuine Omega strap with a gold plated buckle that matches the watch. I have also worn this watch on an aftermarket black leather strap and it looks just as impressive. The movement is functioning. The watch has very light use markings for a 67 year old watch. The price is 550GBP. Austin Kaye of London has one of these for sale for 995GBP, and I've seen the 18ct version currently on eBay for 1750GBP, so I feel this is a great price. This watch is located in the United Kingdom. About the seller: I have been trading watches on eBay for a some time, however recently I was hospitalised and as result I received some negative feedback for lack of communication, leading eBay to place restrictions on my account, making me unable to sell high-ticket items such as this. This led me to looking for other avenues of sale, such as this forum, that's why my account here is new. If you have any questions, or require more information or photos please do not hesitate to contact me.
Hi, please forgive the question but in my rather limited experience of vintage omegas I haven't cine across this style or font of dial before. Could you tell me if this dial is original or refinished please?
Caseback photos as requested by one user. It is a Dennison case and you can learn more about it here: http://omega.watchprosite.com/show-forumpost/fi-677/pi-4706578/ti-720488/t-/
The link you posted shows an illustration with raised numbers at 12, 3 and 9, your pictures however show painted numbers, can you confirmis this an original dial?
I'm pretty sure the dial has been restored but as you can see it is almost identical to the original.
