I just got these two watches from my grand father. I'd always been told the wristwatch was a movado, obviously not. The pocket watch is sold gold also. I know nothing about them.

The names are right on the dial. ;)

The Solvil et Titus used to be a Swiss company, now it's in Hong Kong.

I only found that out when I started researching a watch my mum showed me that had been given to my grandmother. Gran was a seamstress and she made a lot of clothes for a Lady someone or other and when my Gran retired, her client gave her a gold Cyma. Obviously, a ladies watch from the early 50's isn't worth the cost but my mum had it serviced (because I refused to try it myself - at the time it was smaller than anything I had worked on at 5 lignes) and has given it to my sister. Hopefully, my sister will look after it and pass it on to her daughter - it's the way things should be.

thanks all. definitely need to service both. the pocketwatch's second hand has come off, and neither have been touched for possibly 30 years.

    Couple of extra questions
    - is this an integrated bracelet or can I remove it prior to sending it for service
    - is there any way to stop it moving? I've pulled the crown out, but as it isn't a hacking movement it keeps on moving for a few seconds every time I pick it up!

    Thanks

It doesn't look like an integrated bracelet. It looks like someone has used the wrong spring bars and they are corroded and covered in dead skin.

If you can open the back, you should be able to let the spring down.
